Hope Floats

__Against_the_Wind___by_JunkbyJenJust a little blog I had posted on 360 once back in 2007…for a friend of mine who still today battles leukemia…to remind us all….hope floats…in all of our hearts…

If you can look at the sunset and smile,
then you still have hope…

If you can find beauty in the colors of a small flower,
then you still have hope…

If you can find pleasure in the movement of a butterfly,
then you still have hope…

If the smile of a child can still warm your heart,
then you still have hope…

If you can see the good in other people,
then you still have hope…

If the rain breaking on a roof top can still lull you to sleep,
then you still have hope…

If the sight of a rainbow still makes you stop and stare in wonder,
then you still have hope…

If the soft fur of a favored pet still feels pleasant under your fingertips,
then you still have hope…

If you meet new people with a trace of excitement and optimism,
then you still have hope…

If you give people the benefit of a doubt,
then you still have hope…

If you still offer your hand in friendship to others that have touched your life,
then you still have hope…

If receiving an unexpected card or letter still brings a pleasant surprise,
then you still have hope…

If the suffering of others still fills you with pain and frustration,
then you still have hope…

If you refuse to let a friendship die, or accept that it must end,
then you still have hope…

If you look forward to a time or place of quiet and reflection,
then you still have hope…

If you still buy the ornaments, put up the Christmas tree or cook the turkey,
then you still have hope…

If you still watch love stories or want the endings to be happy,
then you still have hope…

If you can look to the past and smile,
then you still have hope….
If, when faced with the bad, when told everything is futile,
you can still look up and end the conversation with the phrase … yeah….BUT. .
Then you still have hope…

Hope is such a marvelous thing.
It bends, it twists, it sometimes hides, but rarely does it break… It sustains us when nothing else can…
It gives us reason to continue and courage to move ahead, when we tell ourselves we’d rather give in…
Hope puts a smile on our face when the heart cannot manage…
Hope puts our feet on the path when our eyes cannot see it…
Hope moves us to act when our souls are confused of the direction… .
Hope is a wonderful thing, something to be cherished and nurtured, and something that will refresh us in return… And it can be found in each of us, and it can bring light into the darkest of places…
Never lose hope…

I vaguely remember the film but don’t think i’ve seen Under a Tuscan Sky…as for the books…all done & dusted…guess i need to buy the other 2 now…hehehe. ~hugs~ xxx

hope sounds so optimistic … ewww LOL thanks for sharing this though! And yes, both movies are excellent, although I lean towards Tuscan as the better movie, not quite as sappy and predictable as Hope Floats. (rolls eyes … another Twilight fan … just kidding)

Yes…I like Under the Tuscan Sky better too….as for Twilight…the acting is not all that…but I love Vampire movies…and that kind of love…mmmm…I am a sappy sucker…

Thanks for stopping by….and ewwww yourself….lol…being optimistic keeps your heart light….smiling oh so sweetly….

~Michael~ I thought it was time i saw for myself what all the hype was about & as i prefer to read i bought the books…

  6. saffy says:

You got your hugs silly…along with your butterfly kisses….hehehe…i haven’t seen Twilight but the books do keep you riveted…i have a bit of a thing for bloodsuckers too…& had to giggle to myself when the wolves put in an appearance….~hugs you extra tight~ xxx

Ok I give, read Twilight, drool over Edward or Jacob, get all sappy and misty-eyed. I resisted Harry through all 7 books (although I did see the movies, hey they were good) and I am not buying into the hype over Twilight or New Moon. SO there! LOL

Besides, if I want to read vampiric stuff, I prefer Laurel K. 🙂

… hugs? butterfly kisses? sniffle sniffle … I guess I can always spend another 12 hours trying to download AVG FREE, only to have it fail on installation again. Oh joys!

    Until next time …

you are welcome to stop by my blog as often as you like, i will add you to my blog roll if you like. i think your choice of artwork rivals mine. i very much like this image. i aplogize beforehand if i am not a very good commenter, i have a very hard time seeing these days, i am legally blind and don’t stray far from my own work except to search for art. i am a terrible commenter anyway, i feel guilty evaluating anyone’s expressions short of saying something cliche. jayme thorne will tell you i’m mostly a clown at commenting because i can’t read most ppls blogs because of contrasts. i’m surprised she lets me get away with the comments i leave her as they usually have nothing to do with her posts. 🙂
